IIMBx Team Bonding
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” This old proverb holds true in our day-to-day lives. Attaining a balance between work and play is essential for everyone to stay refreshed and motivated.
The IIMBx team has been working relentlessly across various programmes, whether it’s recording sessions, creating edit notes, editing, or launching programmes. Recognizing the hard work put in by the team, our Director and Chairperson, Prof. Vasanthi, decided to organize a much-needed team outing to Q Mango, a perfect destination for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Q Mango is located about 60 kilometers from the campus, so the day began early. The entire team of 40 members boarded the bus at 6:30 AM for a day-long package that included breakfast, lunch, and high tea. The fun started right on the bus, with everyone singing, humming tunes, and playing games, setting the tone for the day ahead.
The resort offered a variety of exciting activities, including kayaking, zip-lining, rappelling, swimming, rain dance, and mud games. Team members enthusiastically participated in these activities—some ventured out kayaking, others relaxed by the pool, and a few adventurous ones tried their hand at every activity available.
Team-building games organized by our team members were another highlight of the day. We played several fun games like Lock and Key, Passing the Ball, Stepping on the Island, and the most entertaining of all—Copy the Dance. The energy and laughter throughout were contagious!
Our Chief of Staff, Usha Ganesan, wowed us all with her exceptional dancing skills, and it was a delight to watch her perform. A few lucky ones even got to share the dance floor with her. The fun continued with a lively karaoke session where team members showcased their hidden singing talents, performing songs in English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. It was a true celebration of talent and diversity.
After all the singing and dancing, we hit the floor for the rain dance, grooving to the beats and letting loose. It was an absolute blast to see everyone shaking a leg together and enjoying the moment.
The day concluded with a relaxing high tea, complete with hot beverages and delicious snacks. As we boarded the bus back to campus, the team was visibly tired but truly refreshed, ready to take on new challenges at work with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
This outing was not just about fun but also about bonding, relaxation, and creating memories. Here’s to many more such refreshing and rejuvenating breaks that remind us of the importance of teamwork, laughter, and balance!
