Campus Chronicles: PCHM Batch 3’s Journey from Screen to Scene!

The Professional Certificate in Hospital Management (PCHM) is a thoughtfully designed online program, aimed at equipping healthcare professionals with essential leadership competencies. It covers areas like managing people, fostering innovation, organization design, and strategic development. The program also delves into operations, marketing, finance, economics, and the regulatory framework of healthcare in India.
The third batch of PCHM kicked off in July 2024, and our learners have been thoroughly enjoying the online sessions. On January 10, 2025, we welcomed them to an in-campus session at IIMB, bringing together a diverse group of learners from across India and even some from abroad.
110 learners in Batch 3, more than 50% of the batch came in person to the session to experience a day in the life of an IIMB student on campus. The full day was packed with insightful activities and interactive discussions.
The day began with Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan’s energetic session on Future Ready Competencies. She guided learners to discover their potential and focus on growth within large hospital organizations. A reflective assignment was handed out to assist in their career development over the next 24 months, with the key takeaway being personal and professional growth.
After the networking high tea, Prof. Allen led a session on Transforming Patient Care with Effective Communication. This session emphasized the importance of doctor-patient communication, covered legal nuances like the Consumer Protection Act and Advanced Medical Directives (living wills), and sparked some passionate exchange of ideas and experiences.
Lunch was another chance for our learners to bond over shared experiences and insights from the course. There was no sign of any of the usual post lunch dip in activity levels as Prof. Pavan Soni kept everyone engaged with his workshop on Design Thinking for Patient Centricity. The session was dynamic, with learners brainstorming over 200 ideas without any digital tools—quite a feat in today’s tech-driven world! They also created detailed mind maps of the design thinking process.
The day concluded with the most eagerly anticipated campus tour. Learners were thrilled to explore the lush green IIMB campus, visit the spots where the movie 3 Idiots was shot and even indulged in some souvenir shopping at the IIMB store.
It was a day filled with learning, interaction, and excitement. Seeing our learners happy and motivated reinforces our commitment to creating meaningful courses for the future.
Happy Learners, Happy Us.
Kudos to the entire IIMBx team!
